This resource was funded by the Advancing Empathy Grant Program.

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory present on their projects, “Integrated Strategic Planning for Empathy Action,” and “Empathy Focused Volunteer Interpretation”. The first project used an integrated strategic planning process to envision and create a comprehensive, interdepartmental Empathy Action Plan in concert with an organization-wide Education Strategic Plan to deliver effective empathy-based programming (1:03-25:06). The second project rewrote Como Park Zoo & Conservatory’s interpretive plans using the empathy-based ROADMAP resources. In addition, CPZC redesigned the interpretive volunteer training program to effectively build capacity for volunteers to deliver high quality empathy-based interpretation (25:10-56:34).
