Como Park Zoo present their grant project “ROADMAP to Empathy,” and ZooMontana present on their project, “Animal Bios of ZooMontana.” Como’s project (0:50-18:34) partnered with Denver Zoo to enhance ROADMAP to operationalize empathy best practices and increase capacity to develop and deliver effective empathy-based programming and experiences. ROADMAP is a mission-aligned capacity building initiative that provides a program development and facilitation process to identify priority learning content and target outcomes using backwards design principles. Zoo Montana (19:13-28:30) developed empathy infused biography signs that include information such as how the animal came into the zoo’s care, how to identify them, and information about the animal’s personality and behaviors.
