This resource was funded by the Advancing Empathy Grant Program.

In this grant presentation, NEW Zoo and adventure park present on their project, “Education Courtyard Expansion” which created an interactive space for zoo visitors to learn about ambassador animals and provided empathy-based signage in the new space (2:00-23:20). Minnestoa Zoo present on their project, “Breaking Down Barriers: Bringing Empathy for Animals to Traditionally Underserved Audiences.” This project created off site education programs for audiences with barriers to coming to the zoo and designed best practices and curriculums for implementing culturally responsive programming. (23:30-47:33).
