This resource was funded by the Advancing Empathy Grant Program.

International Crane Foundation present on their project, “Where Cranes Dance: Connecting People with Endangered Species, Communities, and Wild Places.” This project helped to foster a true sense of empathy for cranes and other wildlife for ICF visitors and viewers through an immersive introductory video experience in their new Welcome Center theater; second, Four-Minute-Films that will each dive more deeply into the projects featured in the introductory video; and third, virtual opportunities for visitors to access this media through their website and social media portals. (0:55-20:07).

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium present on their project, “Growing Empathy by Connecting Elementary Schools to Nearby Nature.” This program expanded PDZA’s long-term partnership with the Tacoma School District (TSD) to nurture and grow empathy towards animals by connecting highly underserved students to animals. (20:30-45:16).
