ACE for Wildlife Learning Network
The Advancing Conservation through Empathy (ACE) for Wildlife Learning Network creates and shares effective practices to foster empathy for animals and people. In 2019, we had our first in person empathy symposium followed by another in February 2020. Shortly afterward, the COVID-19 pandemic forced everyone to re-evaluate how we envisioned working together; both in the immediate workspace and beyond. As a Network whose membership spans across 7 states, this was the ideal time to transition our connection to the virtual space.
Our first virtual gathering occurred in October 2020 and since then we have continued to utilize the virtual space as a Network to collaborate, grow, and learn together. These virtual meetings allow our Members to regularly connect with each other whether they’re 2 hours or 200 miles apart – and we don’t envision that changing any time soon! We are thankful for this virtual space and how it’s allowed us to move forward.
