ACE for Wildlife Network Communications Toolkit

ACE for Wildlife® Network • June 2024

Over the past six months the Advancing Empathy team has been developing a new communications toolkit for Network participants. Many of us are asked by colleagues at our institutions, or by others within our field, to communicate about our experiences in advancing conservation through empathy for wildlife, to share our “why” behind the work, or even respond to people who are resistant to using empathy practices. To support these types of communications needs, we’ve developed a toolkit that can be accessed and used by anyone who participates in the Network.

The toolkit contains the following resources:

  • Key messages: talking points about the core benefits and rationale behind advancing conservation through empathy for wildlife.
  • Boilerplate: blocks of text that can be used for specific communications needs such as press releases, website blogs, grant applications, and more.
  • Frequently asked questions: answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about advancing empathy and about the Network.

These resources are for internal use by Network members only and should not be shared in public-facing ways. We invite you to download and review them from the Resource Library today. We welcome your feedback on this toolkit as you use it – and your ongoing input on other communications support or materials that you might find helpful for the Network to develop in the future.
